An All Volunteer Non-Profit Mounted Search and Rescue Team Based in San Antonio, TX at Azgard Farms.
This new organization was recently started to help in locating missing persons. We currently have over 25 riders with their horses, and welcome anyone interested in joining.

The Riders in a line formation with members of the Bexar County Mounted Patrol and San Antonio Police Mounted Unit at Graduation. Riders are in red shirts, SAPD in blue and BCMP in white. The school was conducted by Lt. Bill White and his very good and knowledgeable staff of Officers/Horsemen. The Riders would like to thank them for their help and knowledge they imparted to us in the classes.
The blending of medieval and fantasy themes in modern literature and films has lead to many popular misconceptions about medieval history. We felt these popular misconceptions seemed to give way to a totally different venue for horse owners to enjoy their horses. The Riders of Myth and Legend (and a little Fantasy) began with a small group of riders looking for a more interesting and challenging way to enjoy their horses. We have come to the conclusion that being part of this group which goes back to a simpler time, where things were more black and white and then taking liberty to glorify it a little, goes a long way to relieve the stress of today life.
It's just good clean fun, fun, fun for untwisting our slightly twisted souls created by today's society. Learn costuming, design and build your own costumes and maybe you could be a Nymph, a Fairy or maybe a Sprite on a Winged Unicorn. Or if soft petals and wings are not your thing learn infantry fighting, make your own armor, weapons, shields, etc., and put them on and go learn how it feels to wear them when somebody is swinging a (rattan) sword at you. And at the end of the day and yours and your horses wings are tried and muscle are sore from being tournament champion then sit down and take a load off and learn brewing, you make (and WE sample!) your own wines, meads and beers.
Our goal is to recreation of Middle Ages with a lose slant, participate in many things, including jousting, medieval mythology, medieval dancing, costuming, armor and weapon design, fighting (modified for safety), brewing and vinting, cooking (and eating of course!).
*Formalized jousting rose to the height of its popularity in Europe during the 1400's. An off shoot of the war games ("Melees") staged by Knights on horseback and foot soldiers in open fields, jousting was conducted in colorfully decorated area designated by the nobles for spectator viewing.
"Myth is the secret opening through which the inexhaustible energies of the cosmos pour into human manifestation..." (Joseph Campbell)
